Project Background
In the first quarter of 2025, Maria Santos, Operations Director of SM Megamall in Manila, Philippines, planned to enhance the customer experience by adding convenient beverage services to the mall's central rest area. Upon recommendation from a local supplier, she contacted our company through the Made-in-China platform and expressed interest in the JK86 freshly ground coffee machine with independent ice-making functionality.
Solution Implementation
In May 2025, Maria purchased one JK86 coffee machine and paired it with a self-service beverage vending machine to create a "Beverage Corner" unit, installed in the atrium rest area on the mall's third floor. The coffee machine offers over 20 beverage options, including freshly ground iced/hot Americano, latte, and specialty coconut latte, while the beverage vending machine provides regular items such as bottled water and juice. Both machines support cash payments (notes and coins) as well as GCash electronic payments.
Operational Execution
The mall's property management team is responsible for daily maintenance, with restocking conducted twice daily, in the morning and evening. Our company provided remote video training for local technicians and supplied bilingual operation manuals in English and Tagalog. To accommodate local consumption habits, the coffee cup size was adjusted to the standard 12oz, and sugar level options were expanded to include "regular sugar" and "low sugar."
Operational Data
After the machines were put into operation, daily sales of the coffee machine reached 40–60 cups, with iced beverages accounting for approximately 65% of sales. The paired beverage vending machine achieved daily sales of around 100 bottles. Data analysis revealed that about 30% of customers purchased both coffee and bottled beverages simultaneously. Sales during weekends and evenings increased to 1.5 times the usual volume, and mall monitoring data indicated that the average customer dwell time in the area extended by 8 minutes.
Expansion Plans
Based on three months of operational data, Maria placed an additional order for three sets of the same equipment combination in January 2026. These units are planned for deployment in the mall's newly added sports goods area and cinema waiting zones. Simultaneously, the mall management is discussing with our company the possibility of developing locally inspired beverages, such as special editions using Philippine-grown coffee beans and seasonal products like mango-flavored iced coffee.
Project Significance
This project has become a successful case study for the JK86 model in tropical shopping mall environments. The machine's ice-making function demonstrated significant advantages in the local high-temperature climate, while the dual-machine combination met diverse customer needs and enhanced overall usage frequency through functional complementarity. The mall management noted that this setup not only generated direct revenue but also improved the completeness of the mall's service facilities.
